I recently spoke at the "Pakistan’s ADR Renaissance" event hosted by
Center for Executive Education CEE IBA, Karachi on August 16, 2024.
During my panel discussion, which consisted of fellow brilliant panelists Dr.
Jo DeLaGarza-Chitlik,
Mohamed Aseel Hassan,
Yuko Nitta, and Gyanendra Prasad Kayastha, I highlighted the critical role that organizations, such as the
CIArb Pakistan Branch, have played in enhancing regional connectivity through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
Our branch has successfully nurtured a pool of experts who are now representing Pakistan across the region, fostering stronger ties and promoting the country’s growing influence in ADR. This event underscored the importance of these efforts and the collective progress being made towards a more interconnected regional ADR landscape.
The event featured distinguished speakers, including the Honorable Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Senior Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, who inaugurated the IBA ADRIC. The seminar brought together a diverse group of experts from Pakistan and across the region, including representatives from ADR centers in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and other neighboring countries. The discussions focused on international and regional connectivity, commercial rule of law, and the evolving mediation landscape in Pakistan, providing valuable insights and fostering collaborative opportunities.
I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to
Bulent Sohail, Syed, Head of Program & Partnerships on the inauguration of IBA-ADRIC and wish the center the best of luck in its future endeavors warm regards to both
Kamran Bilgrami and
Bulent Sohail, Syed for successfully organizing this event.
It was also refreshing to see familiar faces, such as
Grishma Pradhan, Attorney Advisor from the
Commercial Law Development Program,
Tony Andriotis, Partner and Tokyo Head for International Arbitration
DLA Piper and Sidharth Jha.
